Diabetes and HIV have both had a significant impact on the socio-economic standing on the African continent. The majority of people living with HIV/AIDS are on the continent, while diabetes is rapidly rising to be one of the biggest killers. Lack of education, traditional beliefs, and poor health care facilities have partly contributed to the high mortality caused by these two diseases.
